Strong.
What does that even mean?
perhaps it goes much deeper than what it often seems…
We think of big and bold…no fears or doubts at all
Broad shoulders that can carry the weight of all things big and small.
Strong.
It’s what we try to be…
Smiling through the pain and pushing past the heavy.
We say that we are fine- and that it’s really all okay
Lying through our teeth like it’s just another day.
Strong.
What if we’ve got it wrong?
What if strength is more than what we’ve thought of all along…
Maybe it’s a little more than just appearing tough
We can give it all we’ve got- and it still won’t be enough…
Strong.
We can’t do it alone.
Our arms will give, and our knees will bend when we do life on our own.
That’s when we surrender and admit that we are tired
True strength comes from God- not in what’s acquired.
Strong.
It’s what He is when we are not...
He’s able to do more than what we’ve ever thought.
His power is perfected when we’re humble and weak
He hears our prayers and makes a way, and He still moves and speaks.
Strong.
It’s learning to let go.
Knowing when to say “yes,” and also to say “no.”
It’s strength under control- allowing God to take the lead
Trusting He will make a way and give us what we need.
Strong.
It’s what we’re called to be.
Facing fear and walking through so we can be set free.
Courage doesn’t mean that we won’t ever be afraid,
It’s choosing to stand firm in truth and refusing to be swayed.
Strong.
It’s not earned by force or might
But rather in surrender to His plan that’s always right.
Strong.
Such a heavy word…
The weight of trying to earn it has become rather absurd.
The truth is we will never be strong in our own might
Thank God we don’t have to be-He’s with us in the fight.
Strong.
What’s it mean to you?
Maybe strength is waiting in the leap from one to two...
Choosing Bold Faith with you,
Katie
