Piece of Peace

Life can leave us puzzled looking at the set

of a million little pieces we aren't sure connect.

"Picture Perfect's" scattered; vision's on the rocks...

Nothing seems to fit the mold or look just like the box.

We start out plain and simple; easy steps to take...

looking for an outline-to guide the rest we make.

But all it does is frame our mind to lose the bigger picture

The middle is the hardest part, but it's more than just a filler.

How we decide to fill the gaps are choices left to us

Our birth and death are certain; the rest is an added plus.

Maybe you have felt a void like there's a missing piece...

Perhaps it can't be filled with anything other than true peace.

Not the peace that comes from any person, place, or thing

But rather from the kind of peace that only Jesus brings.

He picks up all the pieces and makes a work of art

Beauty shines on the outside, but His best work is in the heart

We only catch brief glimpses of fragments here and there

He can see beyond the lens of mere pieces everywhere.

There's a satisfaction in a job well done

The best puzzles in this life are solved with the help of One.

Life can feel uncertain. That puzzle will remain.

The question lies in Who we trust to help us put the pieces back again?
