Keep Dreaming

When did we stop dreaming and seeing life in color?
Taking off rose colored glasses and putting on another…
Was it when we got a taste of how hard life could be?
Or did time just make it happen, like the rings inside a tree?
Dreams are more than a story that plays while we’re asleep
They often hold ambitions, and deep wishes that we keep.
Dreams are like a work of art hanging on the wall
Beautifully unique; understood by some -not all…
They often paint a picture of a life we hope will be
They drive us to move forward, to make them reality.
When did we stop gazing up at the blue sky and the clouds?
Imagining what the shapes look like… did life just get too loud?
Dreams can turn to nightmares when anxiety sneaks in
Stealing that work of art; leaving bareness where it’s been.
When a dream is stolen, it robs a little hope
Our eyes see less color, and we look for ways to cope.
When we place our hope in Jesus, He protects it and we see
That He has a good future… and our dreams can hold the key…
When we stop and listen, and look up towards the sky
He can give us some new dreams and answers to our “why?”
We won’t always know what’s next, and maybe never will
But we all have a unique purpose and a dream to fulfill.
So, let’s keep looking up and aspiring to be
A bold dreamer who will change the world if we keep our dreams fear-free.
You just keep on dreaming and leave the rest to Him
Who knows what could happen… if we only just begin
Choosing bold faith with you,
Katie
