Clockwork

I’ve been up inside my head spending too much time
The gears are turning as the minutes pass deep within my mind.
They say, “time is a thief,” and I believe it’s true
With every second that comes and goes, it feels like peace does too.
I call “timeout” to stop the clock…to focus and reset
Staying in the “here and now” keeps me away from the “not yet.”
Just like a clock, we all have things inside that make us tick
“Time flies when you’re having fun” … the moments go by too quick
Maybe it’s a mission; a purpose to fulfill
Perhaps it’s a person…or maybe just strong-will…
Reasons that our feet keep moving with the hands of time
That drive us up the ladder we try so hard to climb…
We try to “beat the clock” each and every day
The days are long, but the years are short…time seems to slip away.
What if we slowed down, making every second count?
“Quality over quantity” …attentive to the value and less on the amount
If “time is really money,” what would be the cost
If we didn’t live in the moment…how much would be lost?
The truth is “we can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”
If we only strive for something more- we can’t learn through all the prep…
My mind slows down and starts to clear, different from the start
The Lord helps me move the things I know from my head down to my heart.
He can do the same for you- He’s patient and He’s kind
He loves “around the clock” and He’s always right on time.
Choosing Bold Faith with you,
Katie
Proverbs 16:9
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
