Calm in the Chaos

Lately, I’m feeling confused and conflicted.
This world says there’s truth, but that’s not what’s depicted.
There’s so much distraction, noise, and pollution
Everything’s spinning and I need a solution.
I get lost in the noise of all of the voices
tasks that need done and multiple choices.
Where do I go when I just need a break?
From life’s demands and all that’s at stake?
“God’s not the author of confusion; but of peace”
He can make chaos stop-and the striving cease.
He goes before us and leads the way
Never alone-He says don’t dismay.
Even the winds and the waves obey
when Jesus speaks-the storm goes away!
He says “Be still and know that I’m God”
For He rules the world with His staff and rod.
“He gives strength to the weary and power to the weak”
Hope in hard moments when they seem dark and bleak.
While the world seeks peace in all the wrong places,
reaching for vices and senseless chases
I’ll choose to stand firm in Your truth and Your Word
asking for wisdom when lines get blurred.
Thank you, Jesus for stopping the noise
and the voice of the enemy who tries to destroy.
Your voice is the One I want to hear
speaking sound truth and peace in my ear.
So take away all the distraction
I’m trading it for a real interaction.
With the Prince of Peace who offers clear vision,
a sound mind when we ask for His grace and provision.
Protect my mind from the constant sound-
and instead let Your Holy presence surround.
Choosing bold faith with you,
-Katie
“The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him!”
